Week Five Muddiest Thought

When we discussed digital video coding I was a little confused about interlaced scanning. I would like that explained in a little more depth. Is this how our TV and computer screens work?

our TV and computer screen need constant refresh so that the image is appearing moving or the changes can be shown in the screen. however, in interlaced model, at each given time, only half of the TV and screen is updated, and usually it means that every other line is updated at a given time stamp. since the update is so quick, our eyes will not capture that.
